Interior Designing Sense – Part 2
Whenever you do get around to it (say a long holiday with no plans with the family), get everybody to spend a few days of organization where all the unnecessary clutter gets kicked out or sent to the recycling center. The sheer number of paper products printed with all types of stuff (bills, notices, ads, etc) that come each day or every week does amount to a sizeable pile of paper that if left in a pile just keeps going, and going and going……… If you get stuff by mail, read it, if you don’t need it recycle or if you do file it immediately, nope not in a few minutes NOW. Organize a simple filing system everybody can take part in (say you get your hands on an old functional filing cabinet from a sale or office sale) assign each member of the household their own space and advise them on proper labeling and retention of stuff (school paper, bills, other paper stuff) this works best in the garage next to the recycling bin. Establish a retention schedule for all paper stuff (for bills and receipts, one to a half year would do) for your kids, just let them sort through them when school’s done to get the ones you should cherish and the recyclables sorted out.
